WinPower was chosen by GEA (Gibraltar Electricity Authority) to continue the full Operation & Maintenance Services of the Gibraltar New Power Plant (NMPP), including commissioning assistance as performed to Bouygues Energies & Services for the last two years
The Power Plant was designed as an engine power plant based on Gas fired (G) and Dual Fuel (DF) engines: the technology with the highest electrical efficiency currently available on the market. It is economically advantageous, and it incorporates the highest safety and environmental performance.
The new North Mole Power Plant is a dual fuel Power Plant powered by 3x MAN 14V51/61G Natural Gas gensets and 3x 14V51/61DF dual fuel gensets, mainly operating on Natural Gas with the possibility of also operating on Diesel fuel.
Combining its expertise in the power generation and the know how gathered through years of designing, maintaining and operating power plants, WinPower implemented an O&M management system and procedures to safely and reliably operate and maintain the plant systems and its various equipment’s.
The local O&M team was combined electrical and mechanical engineers and experts, technicians, supervisors and operators, supported by the headquarters management and engineering team.
